If I could give zero stars, I would. Saw Aaron W. a while back, he was fine. Went again about a year ago on a walk-in and the owner, Aaron J., was pretty rude and arrogant for a guy giving a basic buzz cut.
Went again today because everyone deserves a second chance and got Aaron J. again. I got there 5 minutes before he opened and he was watching TV. Even though he saw me, he made no attempt to greet me or say he'd be right with me. When he unlocked, his half-hearted wave to enter was made with the effort of an extremely unhappy person. I asked him if he could also run a trimmer over my stubble so I could shave more easily later. He replied haughtily "No, because I don't do beard trims". I've never had a barber or stylist refuse a quick stubble knock-down; maybe that's beyond his skill set.
At that point, I was tired of Aaron J. acting like he was doing me a favor so I left before the haircut. He remarks below that I was rude and he was cordial. If that's his cordial side, I'd hate to see him in a bad mood!
Esquire is one of those hipster places that acts like they're reinventing the wheel because they do shaves, etc. Save your money and go somewhere else.

I've been to countless barbershops and hair salons over the course of my life that I just couldn't stay at, either because of the environment, the price, the commute, or simply because they'd F my S up. It's been exhausting looking at places all over the city but at Esquire I've found exactly everything I've needed. I've been a "cut my own hair at home, hope for the best" person for a loooong time but I haven't put any scissors to my hair since I started coming here. (They no longer call to me like the green goblin mask). Wallace is the best, I always get what I come in for and it's always 10x better than I envisioned it.
I've gone to places where I go in every 2-3 months and they treat me like I'm new every single time. I've only been to Esquire maybe 2-3 times in the past, with I think 8 months in between the last and most recent visits, and they still managed to remember me. It's little things like that that really make the place feel a little warmer.
The prices are very reasonable for the service provided, I've paid more for cuts that I ended up having to fix at home. It really does feel like Wallace reads my mind when I'm there. I wear glasses I have to take off while I'm in the chair, putting them back on and seeing my results feels like opening a present on Christmas.

Wallace is an incredibly skilled and humble barber who has completely transformed my hair journey! As someone with limited experience seeing a professional for my hair, I couldn’t have asked for a better barber. Wallace has always been kind, patient, and professional, making me feel comfortable whenever I sit in their chair.
I have long, curly hair, and my hair has been quite challenging to manage due to medical situations. Wallace not only gave me consistent, high-quality haircuts but also provided invaluable advice and care to help me manage my hair difficulties. Thanks to Wallace, I’m now living my best hair life and feeling more confident than ever!
If you’re looking for a barber who is not only talented but also genuinely cares about their clients, Wallace is the one. I can’t recommend them enough!

Ricky is absolutely fantastic. He’s extremely talented and I get nothing but compliments for weeks after seeing him. His haircuts and beard lineups are unmatched. 10 out of 10 every time. Thank you Ricky!

First time coming into the shop; I booked an appointment at 4:30. I walk into the store at 4:32 and no one says a single thing or even looks in my direction. I sat down for about 10 minutes and the person that is supposed to cut my hair (I recognized Wallace from their ig), is well into cutting another person’s hair. Due to the poor time management, communication and customer service, I decided to leave. Very disappointed and definitely will not be returning.
