Aaron and the entire staff @ Esquire are welcoming, friendly and provide great service. Aaron has been cutting my hair for 5+ years. His attention to detail is unmatched and he is very entertaining. I always look forward to my haircut, and always leave looking and feeling great. I highly recommend Esquire. 😀👍🏻🏳️‍🌈🎉😎

Giving a 5 star review to offset Tony's completely awful review. Why when you only book a haircut, do you assume you're also getting a beard trim? Completely ridiculous. Also pal, from reading your review I assume the person cutting your hair has a issue with standing, and I wasn't even there. I'm willing to bet you tip like trash because you sound like trash. I hope you never find what you're looking for ever.

I've been visiting barbershops for over 45 years and have had my hair and beard cut in over 30 states and 10 countries, but I have never had an experience quite like this one at Esquire Barber Shop. I arrived two minutes before my appointment and was greeted with a brusque "Do you have an appointment?" I confirmed and mentioned it was with Jay, and was told to have a seat. Despite there being only two people working, neither made any effort to make me feel welcome. When Jay finished with her current customer, she called my name without getting up from the stool she was sitting on. Is it too much to expect a barber to stand, introduce themselves, and make a new customer feel welcome? Once seated, I explained that I wanted a zero on the sides and one on top, and to clean up and line up my beard. My hair was already very short, with the longest being maybe a three and my beard a four. Jay then informed me that she doesn't trim beards and that I should have added that as an extra service when booking online. She said they wouldn't have booked me with her if I had requested a beard trim. This left me baffled—I've never heard of a barber who doesn't trim beards. Isn't that one of the main reasons people go to barbershops? Jay explained, in a rather condescending tone, that getting a zero was an extra service. Because I was her last customer of the day, she was willing to do it this time but told me to request it when booking online in the future. She claimed it was more time-consuming, which justified the extra charge. To my surprise, she applied warm shave cream to the back of my neck and shaved it at the end, despite apparently only using electric razors for everything else. Throughout the entire 27-minute haircut, Jay never once got up from her stool, not even to check if the lining in front was straight. When it was time to pay the $45, she reiterated that I needed to add a beard trim when booking online if I wanted that service. I told Jay it didn’t matter because I would never return. You would think this would provoke a question as to why and how they could fix it so I would be a returning customer, but no—nothing, just an "OK." This also shows how little they respect their customers. During my visit, two people walked in hoping for a walk-in appointment. Both were told they needed to make an appointment online and were offered no further assistance. When they asked about availability for the next day, they were simply told to look online. Jay and the other barber then talked about how over five people had tried to walk in that day, seemingly indifferent to the missed opportunities. Esquire Barber Shop has a prime location in Andersonville, perfect for walk-by traffic. It was the reason I decided to try them, having passed by numerous times while walking through the neighborhood. It's such a shame they have so little respect for customers when there are many great barbers in the city who would appreciate the potential this location offers. Since when can someone call themselves a barber if they can't or won't trim a beard? This experience was disappointing, to say the least, and I won't be returning. If you're looking for a barbershop that values its customers and offers comprehensive services, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Aaron did an awesome job with my hair. Super communicative throughout the process, great vibes in the shop, and booking was a simple process.
