Pretty fast and easy! Keys work great 👍. The card reader on the machine difficult to use and I almost abandoned the mission... but they work well

Locked myself out of the house this morning. Looked on Google Maps for a Locksmith near my home. This was the closest one. I did not realize it was located inside of Menards. My fault on that. Not sure what services are offer inside the store but when I called the number listed I got connected to a national call center. They coordinated a locksmith to come out to my house. Pros: Fairly quick response. The locksmith called within 10 minutes of my call to the number listed on Google Maps. He also provided an ETA to my house as well as called 10 minutes before arrival. Was professional though out the service call. Cons: My fault for not asking the cost when I made the initial service call. How expensive can it be right? The locksmith arrived and looked at the house door lock that needed to be unlocked. He said it will be $279 to get it unlocked and that I won't have to change the locks out. I said ok as what else could I do at this point. Took him 2 minutes to pick the lock with a master key. Great job. Went to make payment and then was told there is an additional $39 service call fee! What can you do? Total cost is $318 paid via Zelle. Summary: 1. I should have confirmed that it was a local locksmith. I did not until after the fact. The locksmith that came out was located 45 minutes away. 2. I should have asked the price before I agreed to the service call. It's 7:45 am and 19F outside so didn't have a lot of time to shop around for a better price. 3. Overall the service was fairly prompt (75 minutes from initial call to getting the door unlocked but could have been quicker if I had called a locksmith that was actually located nearby) and the locksmith was courteous even with the upcharge.

There is still some metal swarf on the key which slightly prohibits usage/entry. Fix the machine please so that the key is more precise of metal swarf.

279 dollars just to get the tech out there, then the tech charges 39 dollars!!! Stay away from these crooks! Plus it says Glendale heights, took them 30 .minutes to arrive. Locksmith was fast and professional though. Calling the BBB and maybe a lawyer.
