I feel bad giving this place 3 stars, but our food was very bad. We ordered a few different sushi rolls and it might be some of the worst sushi I've ever had. The rice was overseasoned, with some bites having a shocking amount of rice vinegar. The taste of rice vinegar lingered in my mouth long after we had finished eating. The rice was also overcooked, leading it to be mushy. My wife absolutely loves sushi and she was taking the rice off the rolls because she couldn't eat it. I'm giving it 3 stars because the service was great, and I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that their other Japanese food is better, and maybe we got sushi on a bad day. That said, we definitely won't be back here for sushi.

Adorable BYOB authentic Japanese restaurant in Hyde Park. Very authentic oyakodon, katsudon, gyudon, etc in addition to the more traditional Americanized options, like various types of sushi and rice. It is small and intimate and perfect for a casual double date. We had a great time and thought everything was delicious!!

Run by a wonderful family who makes wonderful food. We eat here a few times a month and love the lunch specials as well as the full dinners. Great tempura, great Katsu and Katsudon. I don't trust a lot of places this far away from the sea to serve sashimi but Kikuya is always fresh and flavorful.

Actually everything was great with our Ubereats delivery, the food, the presentation, and the neat packaging; it just may be that they need to a little more seasoning to all of the food....I would highly suggest this. I don't like to add a lot of salt to my food either way; so me saying that says a lot. I have to say I love the fact the miso and salad is included w the entree with most places I order from this is extra cost. Other than that after adding my own seasoning everything was delicious! Will def order again either way!
